Home Sweet Retirement Home…for Doggies

September 13th, 2007

Just picked up a magazine (I won’t say which one because then I’d be revealing my age) and saw the future of pet care all wrapped up in one little tiny article. Looks like the Japanese love their dogs even more than Americans do…if that’s even possible! The article says that the first canine nursing home has opened in the city of Tochigi, Japan. What a wonderful concept! For approximately $800.00/month, it seems that elderly and sickly dogs can spend the rest of their little lives at the Soladi Care Home for Pets. There they can receive 24-hour veterinary care and live out their doggie twilight years. I predict that the trend will hit the United States very, very soon…perhaps Dallas will the first city to embrace this very unique concept.
