Petite Pooch Dog Blog

I’m a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science who has gone to the dogs…and I’m so glad that I did! I started out in clinical nursing and found my way into the world of corporate healthcare. After spending my whole business life in the boardroom…I now find myself in the boarding (and grooming) room.  I’m so grateful that I had the good fortune and the great opportunity to be a part of “Corporate America” as I learned a great deal about the world of business. The “Golden Handcuffs” were removed not by choice but by circumstance, but I’m a firm believer that “things happen for a reason” and when they do…one has to recognize and seize the opportunity. When I was “downsized” I had to look at what I was good at and what my passions were. I finally realized that I was good at business and passionate about dogs. So that’s the path I took.

I frequently get phone calls from people who find themselves in the same position I was in. It’s been 11 years and I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m grateful that I found another career. My advice to people looking for a second career is…do your homework, assess your needs, understand your strengths, find your passion and discover a new career…maybe the path will take you to the dogs, too. If that’s the direction you take, I hope that you find it as rewarding as I have!
